Team Rainey Set to Defend Title at Best of the West This Weekend

WELCOME TO TEAM RAINEY FASTPITCH, the official website for Team Rainey, a nationally ranked men's fastpitch team from Whittier, California.   

Team Rainey arrived on the national scene in 2003, entering the 2003 ISC World Tournament as the # 23 ranked team in the world, and narrowly missed a spot in the final "Sweet 16" round of play.  The squad opened the 2004 season as the # 17 ranked team, and moved up by year's end to the # 12 spot when the ISC announced it's pre-world-tournament rankings. For the second year in a row, the team was the California area champion, earning a berth to the ISC World Tournament.

In 2005, Team Rainey has qualified for the ISC World Tournament for the third straight year, and will be in Eau Claire, WI August 12-21, 2005 to compete with the forty (40) best teams in the world of men's fastball.  Team Rainey enters the tournament this year as the # 20 ranked team in the world, earning it a # 2 seed within its pool of five teams.  The top two teams in each pool advance to the single elimination championship round.   The team's schedule of games for the ISC World Tournament are as follows:

• Saturday, August 13, 10pm (7pm PST) vs. North Americans, OK
• Monday, August 15, 10pm (7pm PST) vs. Hallman Twins, Ontario, Canada (the Twins are the #1 seed in the pool)
• Tuesday, August 16, 12pm (9am PST) vs. Brandts, Springfield, IL
• Wednesday, August 17, 8am (5am PST) vs. Czech Republic
